Let’s work together!
Yunhan Xu (she/her), Graduate Intern
Hello! I’m Yunhan Xu, you are welcome to call me Erica. With a Bachelor's in Neuroscience from Texas A&M University, I am currently pursuing my Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Midwestern State University. I provide counseling under the supervision of Mehik Malik, M.A., LPC, at Vibrant Journey Counseling and Zachary Zoet M.A., LPC-S at Midwestern State University.
I believe counseling is for everyone, no matter where you are in life. Whether this is your first time reaching out, you're returning after some time away, or you've been in counseling before, you are welcome here. Seeking support doesn't have to wait until life feels overwhelming, you don't have to prove you're struggling enough to belong here. You deserve care simply because you're human.
My hope is to offer a place where you don't feel the need to mask parts of yourself or feel pressured to have everything figured out. I hope we can approach whatever brings you here with openness, curiosity, and compassion, allowing space for both acceptance and change. Working toward change doesn't mean rejecting who you've been or everything you've been through. Instead, I hope we can make sense of your experiences together, carry them with greater understanding, and find a way to move toward the future you want, without judgment for the past.
My take on counseling is influenced by the dialectical behavior approach, which reminds us that acceptance and change are not opposites. We can acknowledge what has brought you to this moment while also exploring new ways of coping, growing, and creating a life that feels meaningful to you.
Outside of counseling, I enjoy reading, knitting, playing video games with friends, and walking with my family after dinner. These moments remind me of the importance of slowing down, staying present, and finding joy in everyday life. It would be a privilege to walk alongside you as you begin or continue your counseling journey.
Sessions with Yunhan are $30
