Let’s work together!

Neely Quinn (she/her), Graduate Intern

Hi, I'm Neely Quinn. I am currently pursuing my Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, completing my practicum under the supervision of Mehik Malik, MA, LPC-S, EMDR-t at Vibrant Journey Counseling, and Dr. Kayla Bryant, PhD, LPC-S, at Midwestern State University.

Before starting this program, I spent over a decade building and running a company working as a nutritionist and a professional coach, helping people through some of the hardest and most vulnerable moments of their lives—often around performance pressure, burnout, body image, and the gap between who someone is and who they feel they're supposed to be. That work taught me that real change rarely comes from being told what to do: it comes from being deeply understood first.

My work as a counselor is grounded in existential therapy. I believe a lot of what brings people into counseling isn't a symptom to eliminate but a confrontation with something real: mortality, freedom, isolation, or the search for meaning. I'm interested in the questions underneath the presenting problem: who are you when you aren’t preoccupied by who you "should" be, what are you actually afraid of, and what would it mean to build a life that's authentically yours? I integrate person-centered, EFT, feminist, and CBT approaches into that foundation, using them as tools in service of that deeper existential work. I lean toward direct, honest conversation because I believe deep healing and change come from sitting with what's actually true, even when it's uncomfortable.

I'm especially passionate about working with anxiety, perfectionism, burnout, body image issues, intimate relationship and family dynamics, and major life transitions. I believe that what many individuals are missing from their lives is deep validation—from themselves and from their loved ones. This means that much of my work is centered on identifying, exploring, and communicating emotions and needs, and then normalizing them. That works leads to deeper self-acceptance and a new language to use with loved ones in order to meet each other’s needs and live more fulfilled, meaningful lives.

Outside the therapy room, I'm a longtime rock climber who loves to travel the world in search of new climbing areas with my husband and heeler mix. I am also a hyperrealistic colored pencil artist, a gardener, a hiker, and an avid documentary watcher.
