Katie Rodriguez-Keklak (She/Her), LPC- Associate, NCC
Supervised by: Dr. Ametis Bassir, Ph.D., LPC-Supervisor
Katie is an LPC-Associate who earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas. She works with adults and couples navigating relationship concerns, anxiety, depression, and the effects of trauma. She has a particular interest in working with trauma survivors and is intentional about creating a therapeutic space where clients feel seen, understood, and supported throughout their healing process.
Katie’s counseling style is warm, authentic, and collaborative. She values curiosity and openness in the therapy room and believes it is essential for clients to have space to explore confusing or overwhelming thoughts and emotions at their own pace. While Katie is a direct counselor, she is also gentle and often incorporates humor to foster connection and ease. She prioritizes asking open-ended questions and works to ensure clients feel both supported and empowered throughout the therapeutic process.
In her work with individuals, Katie primarily utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) while integrating humanistic and trauma-informed perspectives. She also values exploring childhood experiences and understanding how past patterns continue to influence present-day thoughts, behaviors, and relationships. Therapy with Katie is collaborative, and clients are never expected to explore topics or complete between-session work unless they feel comfortable and aligned with their goals.
When working with couples, Katie takes a hands-on and intentional approach to help partners improve communication, rebuild trust, and restore emotional and physical intimacy. She draws from Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) approaches to support couples in developing deeper understanding, connection, and healthier relationship patterns. Katie works collaboratively with both partners to ensure therapy feels balanced, respectful, and goal-oriented.
Across all her work, Katie believes healing happens within safe, supportive relationships. She strives to walk alongside clients as they move toward greater clarity, connection, and meaningful change.
In her free time, Katie likes to watch reality tv, make crochet, and hang out with her orange cat, Simba!
Katie can accept Cigna and Aetna insurance.
