Adrienne Kennie (she/her), Graduate Intern
Hello, I'm Adrienne, a Clinical Mental Health Counseling Intern pursuing my Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Texas A&M University - Kingsville. I provide counseling under the supervision of Dr. Evelynn Fitzgerald, Ph.D., LPC-S, RPT-S, at Texas A&M University - Kingsville and Mehik Malik, M.A., LPC, EMDR-T, at Vibrant Journey Counseling.
Before entering the counseling profession, I built a career in healthcare administration and project management, where I developed a passion for helping people navigate life's challenges with compassion and integrity. That passion inspired me to become a counselor.
I enjoy working with adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, life transitions, relationship concerns, and self-esteem challenges. I am especially passionate about supporting women through motherhood, postpartum adjustment, caregiver stress, and identity changes, while promoting mental wellness in underserved communities.
My counseling approach is collaborative, person-centered, and trauma-informed. I strive to create a safe, supportive space where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered. Using evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), mindfulness, and strengths-based interventions, I work alongside clients to help them build resilience and achieve meaningful growth.
As someone who has experienced life's unexpected challenges, I understand the courage it takes to ask for help. I believe healing begins when people feel seen, accepted, and supported without judgment. Whether you're navigating a difficult season or seeking personal growth, I would be honored to walk alongside you on your journey toward healing and hope.
Outside of counseling, I enjoy spending time with my daughter, volunteering in my community, and expressing my creativity through arts and crafts.
Sessions with Adrienne are $30
